My daughter was turning one and I wanted to give her a baby doll. Not just any baby doll, but a truly special, one-of-a-kind doll who would be her companion and playmate throughout her childhood. A baby that encouraged her to nurture and to pretend. A baby that was sweet to hold and simple to look at. I scoured the internet and spent way too many hours looking through pictures of dolls and never really settled on “the one”. But over the next couple of years, I couldn’t shake the desire to give my daughter a doll that was truly special… Then it hit me: I decided to make one myself. So, finally, on my daughter’s third birthday, her baby doll Lucy was “born”. My very first Waldorf doll. My daughter was in love and so was I….
